God is great, but He also cares about all the details of His people’s living. In principle, to be wrong in anything, great or small, is a serious matter. Jehoshaphat’s being rebuked by Jehu the seer for helping Ahab, the evil king of Israel (vv. 1-3 cf. ch. 18), indicates that in the record of the kings of Judah, God took every detail of their behavior, even if it was quite small, as a reason to discipline them.
