Saving Zaccheus
19:1-10
Luke 19
:1
19:1
And He entered and was passing through
1aJericho.
Luke 19
:2
19:2
And behold,
there was a man whose name was called Zaccheus; and he was a chief
1tax collector, and he was rich.
Luke 19
:3
19:3
And he was seeking to
asee Jesus, who He was, and could not because of the crowd, for he was small in stature.
Luke 19
:4
19:4
And he ran on ahead and climbed up in a
1asycamore tree in order to see Him, for He was about to pass through that way.
Luke 19
:5
19:5
And as He came to the place, Jesus looked up and said to him, Zaccheus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay in your house.
Luke 19
:6
19:6
And he hurried and came down, and received Him, rejoicing.
Luke 19
:7
19:7
And when they saw
it, they all
amurmured, saying, He has gone in to lodge with a sinful man.
Luke 19
:8
19:8
And Zaccheus stood and said to the Lord, Behold, the
1half of my possessions, Lord, I give to the
apoor, and if I have
2taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore
3four times as much.
Luke 19
:9
19:9
And Jesus said to him, Today
asalvation has come to this house, because he
1also is a son of
bAbraham.
Luke 19
:10
19:10
For the Son of Man has come to
1aseek and to save that which is
blost.

Teaching concerning faithfulness
19:11-27
Luke 19
:11
19:11
And as they were listening to these things, He spoke
1further a parable, because He was near
aJerusalem and they supposed that the
bkingdom of God was to
2appear immediately.
Luke 19
:12
19:12
He said therefore, A
1certain man of noble birth
2went to a distant country to receive for himself a kingdom and to
3return.
Luke 19
:13
19:13
And he called
1aten of his own slaves and gave them ten
2minas, and he said to them, Do business
3until I come.
Luke 19
:14
19:14
But his
1acitizens hated him and sent an envoy after him, saying,
2We do not want this man to reign over us.
Luke 19
:15
19:15
And when he came back, having received the kingdom, he commanded that those slaves to whom he had given the money should be called to him so that he might know what they had gained by doing business.
Luke 19
:16
19:16
And the first appeared, saying, Master, your mina has gained ten minas.
Luke 19
:17
19:17
And he said to him, Well
done, good slave. Because you have become
afaithful in the least,
1have authority
bover ten cities.
Luke 19
:18
19:18
And the second came, saying, Your mina, master, has made five minas.
Luke 19
:19
19:19
And he said to this one as well, And you, be over
1five cities.
Luke 19
:20
19:20
1And the other came, saying, Master, behold your mina, which I
2kept laid away in a
ahandkerchief;
Luke 19
:21
19:21
For I was afraid of you, because you are a
1harsh man: you withdraw what you did not deposit, and you reap what you did
anot sow.
Luke 19
:22
19:22
He said to him, Out of your mouth I will
1judge you,
awicked slave. You knew that I am a harsh man, withdrawing what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow.
Luke 19
:23
19:23
Why then did you not put my money
1in the bank, and when I came, I would have collected it with interest?
Luke 19
:24
19:24
And to those standing by he said, Take the mina away from him, and give
it to the one who has the ten minas.
Luke 19
:25
19:25
And they said to him, Master, he has ten minas.
Luke 19
:26
19:26
I tell you that to everyone who
ahas,
more shall be given, but from him who does not have, even that which he has shall be taken away.
Luke 19
:27
19:27
However, these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring
them here and
1aslay them before me.

:30
19:30

ano man has ever yet sat; untie it and lead
it here.

:31

And those who were sent went away and
afound it even as He had told them.

:33

:34
19:34
And they said, Because the Lord has need of it.

:35

:36

1spread their own

apraise God with a loud voice for all the works of power which they had
bseen,
Luke 19
:38
19:38
Saying, Blessed is the
aKing who comes in the
bname of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the
chighest!
Luke 19
:39
19:39
And some of the Pharisees from the crowd
asaid to Him, Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.
Luke 19
:40
19:40
And He answered and said, I tell you, If these shall be silent, the
astones will cry out.

Luke 19
:42
19:42
Saying, If you knew in this day, even you, the
athings that are for
your 1peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.
Luke 19
:43
19:43
For the days will come upon you when your enemies will throw up a
arampart before you, and will
bencircle you, and will press you in on every side,
Luke 19
:44
19:44
And they will
1level you to the ground and your children within you, and they will not leave a
astone upon a stone in you, because you did not know the time of your
2bvisitation.

aentered into the temple and began to cast out those who were selling,
Luke 19
:46
19:46

ahouse shall be a house of prayer,'' but you have made it a den of
brobbers.
Luke 19
:47
19:47
And He
ataught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the leaders of the people sought to
bdestroy Him;
Luke 19
:48
19:48
Yet they could not find anything that they might do, for all the people were hanging upon Him, listening.
