Rom. 3 :1 3:1 What then is the advantage of the Jew? Or what is the profit of circumcision?
Rom. 3 :2 3:2 Much in every way. First, that they were entrusted with the oracles of God.
Rom. 3 :3 3:3 For what if some disbelieved? Shall their unbelief annul the faithfulness of God?
Rom. 3 :4 3:4 1Absolutely not! But let God be true and every man a liar, as it is written, a"That You may be 2declared righteous in Your words and may overcome when You are judged.''
Rom. 3 :5 3:5 But if our unrighteousness commends the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is the God who inflicts wrath unrighteous? I speak according to man.
Rom. 3 :6 3:6 Absolutely not! Otherwise how shall God judge the world?
Rom. 3 :7 3:7 But if the 1atruthfulness of God has abounded in my lie unto His glory, why still am I also being judged as a sinner?
Rom. 3 :8 3:8 And why not say (as we are slanderously charged and as some affirm that we say), Let us do evil that good may come? whose 1judgment is just.
D. On all the world totally 3:9-20
Rom. 3 :9 3:9 What then? Are we better? Not at all! For we have previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin,
Rom. 3 :10 3:10 Even as it is written, a"There is none righteous, not even one;
Rom. 3 :11 3:11 There is none who understands, there is none who seeks out God.
Rom. 3 :12 3:12 All have turned aside; together they have become useless; there is none who does 1good; there is not so much as one.
Rom. 3 :13 3:13 aTheir throat is an opened grave; with their tongues they practiced deceit; bthe poison of asps is under their lips;
Rom. 3 :14 3:14 aWhose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.
Rom. 3 :15 3:15 aSwift are their feet to shed blood,
Rom. 3 :16 3:16 Destruction and misery are in their ways,
Rom. 3 :17 3:17 And the 1way of peace they have not known.
Rom. 3 :18 3:18 aThere is no fear of God before their eyes.''
Rom. 3 :19 3:19 Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, 1that every mouth may be stopped and all the world may fall under the judgment of God;
Rom. 3 :20 3:20 Because aout of the works of the law no flesh shall be justified before Him; for bthrough the law is the clear knowledge of sin.
III. Justification 3:21—5:11
A. The definition 3:21-31
Rom. 3 :21 3:21 But now, 1apart from the law, the 2righteousness of God has been 3manifested, witness being borne to it by the Law and the Prophets;
Rom. 3 :22 3:22 Even the righteousness of God through the 1faith of Jesus Christ to all those who believe, for there is no distinction;
Rom. 3 :23 3:23 For aall have sinned and fall short of the 1glory of God,
Rom. 3 :24 3:24 Being 1justified 2freely by His grace through the 3redemption which is in Christ Jesus;
Rom. 3 :25 3:25 Whom God 1set forth as a 2apropitiation place through faith in His blood, for the demonstrating of His righteousness, in that in His forbearance God 3passed over the sins that had previously occurred,
Rom. 3 :26 3:26 With a view to the demonstrating of His righteousness in the present time, so that He might be righteous and the One who 1justifies him who is of the 2faith of Jesus.
Rom. 3 :27 3:27 Where then is boasting? 1It is excluded. Through what kind of law? That of works? No, but through the law of faith.
Rom. 3 :28 3:28 For we account that aa man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.
Rom. 3 :29 3:29 Or is He the God of the Jews only? Is He not of the Gentiles also? Yes, of the Gentiles also,
Rom. 3 :30 3:30 If indeed God is one, who will justify the circumcision 1out of faith and the auncircumcision 1through faith.
Rom. 3 :31 3:31 Do we then make the law of no effect through faith? Absolutely not! Rather, we establish the law.
