Psa. 83
A Song; a aPsalm of Asaph
Psa. 83 :1 83:1 O God, do not keep silent;
Do not be quiet, and do not be still, O God.
Psa. 83 :2 83:2 For, behold, Your enemies are in tumult,
And those who hate You lift up their heads.
Psa. 83 :3 83:3 They 1devise crafty counsel against Your people,
And conspire against Your 2ahidden ones.
Psa. 83 :4 83:4 They have said, Come and let us adestroy them from being a nation,
That the name of Israel may no longer be remembered.
Psa. 83 :5 83:5 For they have aconspired together with one heart;
It is against You that they have made an alliance:
Psa. 83 :6 83:6 The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites,
Moab and the Hagarites,
Psa. 83 :7 83:7 Gebal and Ammon and Amalek,
Philistia along with the inhabitants of Tyre;
Psa. 83 :8 83:8 Assyria is also joined with them;
They have been a help to the children of Lot. Selah
Psa. 83 :9 83:9 Do with them as with aMidian,
As with bSisera and Jabin, at the brook Kishon:
Psa. 83 :10 83:10 They were destroyed at aEndor;
They became dung for the earth.
Psa. 83 :11 83:11 Make their nobles like aOreb and Zeeb,
And all their princes like bZebah and Zalmunna,
Psa. 83 :12 83:12 Who said, Let us possess for ourselves
The habitations of God.
Psa. 83 :13 83:13 1O my God, make them like a tumbleweed,
Like stubble before the wind.
Psa. 83 :14 83:14 Like fire that burns a forest
And like a flame that sets mountains on fire,
Psa. 83 :15 83:15 So pursue them with Your tempest,
And terrify them with Your storm.
Psa. 83 :16 83:16 Fill their faces with shame,
That they may seek Your name, O Jehovah.
Psa. 83 :17 83:17 May they be ashamed and dismayed forever,
And may they be confounded and perish;
Psa. 83 :18 83:18 That they may know that You alone, whose name is Jehovah,
Are the aMost High over all the earth.
