To the choir director. A aPsalm of David
Psa. 64 :1 64:1 Hear, O God, my voice in my complaint;
Preserve my life from the enemy’s dread.
Psa. 64 :2 64:2 Hide me from the secret counsel of evildoers,
From the throng of the workers of iniquity,
Psa. 64 :3 64:3 Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword,
Who have aimed their arrow, their bitter word,
Psa. 64 :4 64:4 To shoot in secret places at the 1perfect man.
They shoot suddenly at him and do not fear.
Psa. 64 :5 64:5 They firm up for themselves an evil matter;
They talk of laying snares secretly;
They say, Who will see them?
Psa. 64 :6 64:6 They seek out injustices, saying:
We have completed a carefully sought-out plan.
Indeed each man’s inward thought
And heart are deep.
Psa. 64 :7 64:7 But God will shoot an arrow at them;
Suddenly they are wounded.
Psa. 64 :8 64:8 They are made to stumble over each other by their own tongue;
All who see them shake their heads.
Psa. 64 :9 64:9 And all men will fear
And declare what has been done by God,
And they will ponder His work.
Psa. 64 :10 64:10 The righteous man will rejoice in Jehovah and atake refuge in Him,
And all the upright in heart will boast.
