So Israel set out with all that he had and came to Beer-sheba and
1offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.

avisions of the night and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here I am.

And He said, I am
1God, the God of your
afather; do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make of you a
bgreat nation there.

I Myself will
ago down with you to Egypt, and I Myself will also surely bring you up again; and Joseph’s hand will close your eyes.

And Jacob rose up from Beer-sheba, and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father and their little ones and their wives in the
awagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.

aJacob and all his offspring with him came to Egypt.

And Joseph made his chariot ready and went up to Goshen to meet Israel his father. And when he appeared before him, he fell on his

And Israel said to Joseph, Let me die now since I have

And Joseph said to his brothers and to his father’s household, I will go up and
atell Pharaoh, and will say to him, My brothers and my father’s household, who were in the land of Canaan, have come to me.

And the men are
ashepherds, for they have been keepers of livestock; and they have brought their flocks and their herds and all that they have.

And when Pharaoh calls you and says, What is your occupation?

You shall say, Your servants have been keepers of livestock from our youth even until now, both we and our fathers; that you may dwell in the land of Goshen, for every shepherd is an
aabomination to the Egyptians.
