CHAPTER THIRTY
A SEER OF THE DIVINE REVELATION IN THE PRESENT AGE
In conclusion, Brother Nee, as a unique gift of the age given by the Lord to His Body for His move of the recovery on the earth, should be considered as a seer of the divine visions in the present age according to what he had seen of the divine revelation. The major items of the divine visions he has seen are as follows:
- The Triune God—the Divine Trinity:
- The Father as the source.
- The Son as the embodiment of the Father.
- The Spirit as the realization of the Son.
- The eternal plan of God:
- God made, in eternity past, an eternal plan (economy) according to the desire of His good pleasure.
- To make Christ, the second of the Divine Trinity, the centrality and universality in God's creation and redemption for Him to have the preeminence in all things.
- To have a church to match Christ as His counterpart, His Body, and His fullness; as a new man in God's new creation; and as God's household, house, and kingdom.
- This Christ is to be the Savior, the Head, the life, and the element of the church.
- This Christ will be the Ruler of the millennial kingdom and will have His overcoming believers as His co-kings for one thousand years.
- This Christ will also be the center and reality of the New Jerusalem, the holy city, as a mutual dwelling of God and His redeemed to express the processed Triune God forever.
- The incarnation of the Triune God:
- Of God the Father.
- In God the Son.
- With God the Spirit.
- To be the embodiment and the expression of the Triune God.
- To bring God into man, making God one with man as a God-man.
- To have God united with man.
- Christ as the Son of God:
- The embodiment of the Godhead.
- The centrality and universality in the divine dispensation:
- In creation.
- In redemption.
- In the church life.
- In the Christian life.
- Having the preeminence in all the above four items.
- The death of Christ:
- Its redeeming aspect, crucifying all the negative and old things.
- Its life-releasing aspect, imparting the divine life into the believers.
- The resurrection of Christ:
- Overcoming death.
- Making Christ the firstborn Son of God.
- Making Christ the life-giving Spirit.
- Regenerating all the believers and making them the many sons of God and the brothers of Christ.
- Bringing man into God.
- The divine life:
- The life of God.
- The eternal life.
- The uncreated life.
- The overcoming life.
- The indestructible life.
- The Spirit:
- The consummation of the Triune God.
- The application of the Father in the Son to the believers.
- The Spirit of life.
- The life-giving Spirit.
- The regenerating Spirit.
- The indwelling Spirit.
- The sanctifying Spirit.
- The transforming Spirit.
- The Spirit as the firstfruit of the taste and enjoyment of God, as the believers' eternal portion.
- The Spirit of power upon the believers.
- The reality of God.
- The reality of Christ.
- The reality of the truth.
- The reality of the resurrection of Christ.
- The redemption of Christ and the salvation of God:
- The redemption of God has been accomplished by Christ's vicarious death for the sinners.
- The salvation of God is based upon Christ's redemption to save us from our past sins and from our present problems unto the ultimate enjoyment of the processed Triune God in the New Jerusalem forever.
- The salvation of God is of God's grace, which is different from the law.
- God's salvation is different from the Lord's reward. God's salvation is given to the believers today through their faith; the Lord's reward will be awarded to the overcoming believers at His coming back according to their overcoming life and work.
- The believers:
- As the tripartite men, with a spirit, soul, and body.
- Regenerated with the divine life to be the sons of God.
- To be the members, the constituents of the Body of Christ.
- To be sanctified with the divine nature of God.
- To be transformed by Christ as the Spirit.
- To be glorified with the divine glory forever.
- The church:
- In its universal aspect—the unique universal church, as the universal expression of Christ.
- In its local aspect—the many local churches as the local expressions of Christ.
- As the kingdom of God.
- As the house, the dwelling place, the temple of God.
- As the Body of Christ.
- As the bride of Christ.
- As the increase of Christ.
- As the fullness, expression, reproduction, continuation, spread, growth, and surplus of Christ.
- As the new man:
- With Christ as his life.
- With Christ as his constituent.
- The New Jerusalem:
- As the tabernacle of God, the eternal dwelling of God.
- As the bride of Christ.
- As the ultimate consummation of the church, the Body of Christ.
- Composed with all the saints of the Old Testament and the New Testament.
- Constituted:
- With the nature of God as the transparent gold.
- With the redeeming Christ as the pearls.
- With the transforming Spirit as the precious stones.
- As the eternal dwelling of the redeemed, regenerated, transformed, and glorified saints.
- As the ultimate and eternal manifestation and expression of the Triune God united with the redeemed, tripartite men.
All the above twelve items are the most mysterious matters in the divine revelation according to the Scriptures.
Brother Nee was not only a seer of these divine visions, but also a pioneer in the experience and enjoyment of the contents of all these divine visions.
